sites, Ephesus is beautifully reconstructed to give
a true feeling of the original city. The nearby
temple of Artemis is the largest marble structure
ever built and was one of the 7 Wonders of the

HALIKARNASSUS
Birthplace of Herodotus and homeport of the
first woman admiral, Artemisia, this lovely harbour
town also boasts one of the 7 wonders of the ancient
world, the tomb of king Mausolus. The crusade era
castle houses a fine museum of underwater
archaeological treasures.

LYCIA
Traces of these fierce seagoing people are
to be found all along the coast east of Marmaris.
Their imposing tombs, carved directly into the
coastal mountains overlook bays of startling beauty.
Many picturesque villages emphasize the timeless
quality of the Turkish Aegean. |

TROY
Agamemnon, Helen, Hector and Achilles. To see
Troy is to take part for a moment in the best known
epic of Western literature. The Myth and the reality
come together here at the entrance to the
